FSCE for the 2025-2026 school is complete and applications for the free 2026 -2027 are now open!
We are super excited to share that we now have an on-line application for the FSCE (Field Science Career Experience) certification program for high school juniors and seniors to apply from. You can find the application and all the fun details here:
If you know a high school junior or senior within EC’s region that has a high interest in any career field of science, please share with them about the adventurous, highly experiential FSCE certification program.
Throughout the school year, FSCE participants attend monthly experiential, hands-on courses led by Earth’s Classroom instructors and guest professionals that work in field science. Each session highlights a different subject within the sciences, exposing students to the diversity of the field and helping them discover their personal passions.
As a capstone project, FSCE participants will present a one-hour solo lesson to an elementary class on a topic they feel most passionate about. This unique aspect allows high school students to apply what they’ve learned and inspire hundreds of younger students by sharing their knowledge and enthusiasm for science.
The program concludes with an unforgettable 3-day, 2-night ecology canoe and camping trip on Missouri’s most biodiverse river. This adventure offers participants an immersive experience in the field, combining education and outdoor exploration in a way that is both rewarding and memorable.
If you’re a high school junior or senior ready to dive into science, grow your skills, and inspire others, FSCE is the perfect opportunity! Pictured to the right is the graduating FSCE class of 2025-2026 at the end of the capstone 3-day, 2-night Ecology Canoe Trip where they studied from Missouri’s most biologically diverse river and camped on its gravel bars. The students were from seven different area high schools.
