About the event

Event Description
Missouri has some of the best caving opportunities in the world! Join us as we explore this delicate ecosystem respectfully. Sharing our knowledge about fragile calcite deposits, cave salamanders, amphipods, bats, and other organisms that inhabit the underworld is one of our most rewarding educational experiences. We will be exploring a gorgeous state-owned, permit-only cave system! You must be willing to hike. Great family learning and exploration!!
We will meet at the Meramec State Park Visitor Center parking lot the afternoon of the event.
Double up on your adventure! The Tarantula Glade Hike takes place earlier the same day, from 9 am–12 pm, followed by the Family Ecology Wild Caving program from 1–6 pm. Don’t forget to sign up for the Tarantula Glade Hike separately!
Things to Know & Required:
EC will provide a caving helmet with a headlamp.
A complete gear list will be provided to you upon reservation by email.
